A visit to the 'Life Bus' and Viking longship models

Woodpeckers spent an afternoon on the 'Life Bus' talking about 'It's great to be me'.  We met Harold the giraffe and we talked about how we are all unique. We also discussed how to make good choices, lead a healthy life and have good friendships.  We had an interesting afternoon with lots of thinking to do.

The 'Life Bus' is a mobile classroom which is placed on the school playground for a couple of days.  Every class gets to visit and experience the sound and lighting effects inside.  Visiting the Life Bus is part of our PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) and we really enjoyed it.

Our Viking longship models

We have been learning about The Vikings: where they came from and why they came and settled in Britain.  We have enjoyed making Viking longship models.  We are also enjoying reading and using the book 'There's a Viking in my bed', written by Jeremy Strong.  We are using it in English lessons to learn about paragraph breaks and using more interesting vocabulary.
