Healthy teeth and Boomwhackers

Healthy Teeth

As part of our work in science, we have been finding out about the different types of teeth we have and what they are for.  We know that human beings are carnivores and that we have incisors, canines and molars.

Here we are making an accurate model set of our teeth using clay.

We enjoyed our session with the dental nurse, during which we talked about our teeth and how to keep them healthy.  We were surprised to find out how much sugar was in some snacks and we learned how to clean our teeth properly.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

As part of our work on our Repeat this! topic, we have learned to used Boomwhackers to play a repeating tune.  We successfully played the tune of 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'.  Boomwhackers are tuned plastic tubes which make a sound when hit.  They are great fun to use and it's really interesting to hear the different notes they make.  We are going to use them again, along with some other percussion instruments, to compose some music ourselves.

On Friday 27th January we will be performing our story 'Foolish Frank' with some musical accompaniment.  Parents, carers and friends are welcome to come along to Gold Book Worship, starting at 2.30pm.
