Before the Easter holidays, we went to church for a Holy Week service. Children from Woodpeckers, Nightingales and Owls read to us about the events of Holy Week: Palm Sunday, The Last Supper, Good Friday. It was a very sombre and moving service. As we left, Father David gave us a palm cross to remember Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem and as a symbol of his death on the cross.
Mrs Lilley invited us back to church after Easter to celebrate his resurrection on Easter Sunday. We went back down to the church to hear about his friend Mary arriving at the empty tomb and learning that Jesus had risen. We sang joyful songs with lots of hallelujahs!
