New year wishes and home learning information 2021 - **details will be fully updated by Friday 8th January

Welcome to Robins class 2020-2021!

Starting school is an exciting time: a time filled with new friends, new experiences and new places.

In Robins class, our aim is to provide a safe and anxiety-free environment where your child can play, experiment, investigate and learn. We will encourage your child to learn and develop their skills and knowledge, through first-hand experience and an environment filled with talk to help them gain a sound understanding of the world around them.

The Reception year is a unique and important time in that it marks the end of your child’s early education at home and in nurseries/ play settings, and the beginning of your child’s school journey.

We are so pleased with the way that Robins class children have settled, especially as they were not able to have any significant opportunities to get to know the classroom before starting.

Well done also to the families! You have helped your child to feel safe and secure in starting school, which has been demonstrated in the way they have managed their new school routines so well.

You are very important this year and we are here to help you and your child.

Below are some webpages and documents which may help to support you and your child at the beginning of their school journey, but if you are concerned or need some more help, please come and talk to us laugh

There are also links below to different sections of this Robins class page where you can find reading and phonics support, maths support and all sorts of other useful things!

Parent letter - Letters and sounds phonics

As of next week (27.4.20) the Department for Education will be hosting daily online phonics sessions in line with the Letters and Sounds phonics program. As a school we follow the Read Write Inc phonics program, which may teach the sounds in a slightly different order, but we think this will still be a super resource and even if your child already knows many (or all) of their sounds, it could provide a great daily revision for them.

Why not try it out and see what your child thinks?

This is the link to the youtube channel:

They have also provided a letter to parents which will give further details. I will post this above.

Thursday 18th October. Robins had a great time using clay and conkers to make conker snails. Once the clay had dried they used very special shiny paint and teeny weeny paintbrushes to neatly paint the conker snails.

On Friday St Martins raised money for Hello Yellow and we had a day dressed as Yellow, they all looked like rays of sunshine β˜€οΈ for the day and what a wonderful day we had.
